FCM Frederic Capital Management is an established, independent private markets investor with offices in Düsseldorf and Luxembourg.
We have a diversified investment approach with the overarching goal that our investments increase in value in the long term. To meet this goal, we invest in the private market asset classes of private equity, infrastructure, and private debt, allocating capital to funds and co-investments.
Trainee Program Private Equity
Our trainee program is aimed at motivated university graduates who are looking to gain comprehensive insights into the private equity industry. As part of the program, you will engage with multiple departments:
Fund Investments:
- Assisting in the screening of the global private equity market
- Compiling information and conducting research within the private equity market
- Participating in the critical assessment (strategy, team, performance) and selection of private equity fund managers
- Assisting in the preparation of investment recommendations related to private equity fund managers
- Supporting the monitoring of the portfolio through ongoing dialogue with managers and attending of investors meetings
Co-Investments:
- Supporting the identification, evaluation, and execution of private equity investments
- Performing quantitative analyses (e.g., market and track record analyses, fair market valuation of companies) and qualitative analyses as part of investment processes
- Assisting in the preparation of investment documents and presentations
- Conducting research in the field of private equity and market development
- Supporting the monitoring of investment portfolios
Finance:
- Assisting in the preparation of reporting presentations to limited partners and advisory boards
- Computing and analyzing portfolio and finance performance
- Reviewing periodic accounting material (investment reportings)
- Supporting cash flow and liquidity management by assisting in fund cash flow projections
- Managing portfolio administration and overseeing portfolio activities
- Supporting the preparation of audit materials
Your profile
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Relevant internship or working student experience(s) in private equity, M&A, corporate finance, consulting or larger corporates
- First exposure to private markets is desirable
- Ability to grasp things quickly and an independent, diligent, and team-oriented way of working
- Basic understanding of private equity transactions and fund structures, supplemented with first experience in financial modelling
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Native (or very good level) in German, with fluency in English
